I’ve read several online comments recently about the new P90X2 from Beachbody and Tony Horton from folks who have said they thought the workouts were too easy. Really? Aside from the years of sports science  that went in to the development of these workouts, can these people really believe they gave the routines everything they had and still found them easy? I don’t think so! P90X2 is like any extreme workout in that you can just get through it or you can push yourself to the limit. It’s the same hour. Make it worthwhile…and stop whining 😉 As for me, the “sampling” ends on January 16th when our team’s P90X2 Challenge officially kicks off. Weekend Pass – Taking Asylum Speed & Agility Outside

So what do you do when your out of town but still want to get in a good workout? Well, if weather permits, take your workout outside. Now my parent’s ancient boat dock probably wouldn’t have been my FIRST choice for a location to do Speed & Agility, but having slept in yesterday, when I got up my little boy was already awake and eager to go fishing with Dad. I just couldn’t just ask him to wait an hour so I could burn a few hundred calories. In the spirit of being a POSITIVE role model for my kids, I try to never give them reason to associate my working out with something negative like NOT fishing, or NOT going to the park or NOT whatever. That’s part of the reason why I workout so early in the morning! Anyways, with my water bottle, iPad, agility ladder, bucket of worms and fishing pole in-hand, we set out on our early morning adventure together. Rusty nails, splinters-waiting-to-happen and loose boards aside, getting outside to workout in the fresh air and light of day was absolutely invigorating. I think I jumped a foot higher than normal! And I certainly burned more goo than usual: 800+ calories worth! I love this workout. Now the dock is only about 5 ft. wide, so I had to take moving push-ups on shore, but the rest was all dock. Just goes to show that where there’s a will there’s a way. You make do with what you have. Oh, and my son caught (and released) about 6 fish. Win win for everyone...
